I tested the ZCO 5.0.18 in my case with outlook 2010 and it didn't work very well. This test machine didn't have ZCO prior to installing office 2010 and after installing office 2010 I tried to install the connector and it completed but failed installing the profile. I tried to add a zimbra email account through outlook 2010 and it failed saying "this information service is not installed on your computer". I also tried to go to control panel/mail and add it and got the same error message.

I'm not sure if anyone else has been testing this connector with outlook 2010. Obviously this only a beta but I think its pretty important to us to have the connector working for when outlook 2010 gets released.

Has anyone else seen this or tested outlook 2010 yet?

Dear All,

testing ZCS5.0.20 + ZCO with Office 2003(SP3) , and have several questions:

1. how could user switch to different user in Outlook + ZCO? Can ZCO support two (or more) profile so that users can pick his/her own profile when launch outlook?

2. if administrator installs ZCO on a public PC computer, and suppose that there are 3 users who will use this PC computer regularly, and they will login this PC computer by their own Active Directory account/password first. Can ZCO support such behavior?

Thanks.

I am successfully using localized folder names (Norwegian) in the Zimbra webclient.

Inbox is "Innboks" and Calendar is "Kalender", to name a few.

How could I see these folder names localized in Outlook as well, using the ZCO?

If nobody has done so yet, I'd be happy to translate the strings (I'm working on completing the new strings with the 6.0 series of the ZCS as well).

But where to look for the strings in the first place??

By way of migration (from standalone-outlook-pst's), I'm trying to upload my own and other users calendar folders to the ZCS.

The .pst import tool created a bit of a mess with national characters (they didn't show up correctly in the web-client afterwords).

But the Outlook connector + an extra PST with the calendar backups mounted presented the option of simply dragging the calendars into the ZCS store.

This way, I actually kept all necessary info when moving the appointments from the Outlook calendar into the Zimbra store.

However, I am seeing a lot of local failures during sync. No easy way of seeing a common reason way, except I notice that where "location" field has been filled in with free text this triggers a local failure.

Any good ideas as to how I could I avoid the errors? Or what fields to beware of when moving appointments to the ZCS?

Hey Guys n Girls,

Im having abit of a mind bender on a few things just on 1 user.

The user is running the 6.0.2 connector which is the same as the server
They have Office 2007 with SP2 and Windows XP Pro with SP3

The user in question had an error in their profile and I rebuilt it from scratch

Uninstalled the connector and reinstalled after restart, started a band new profile etc

When it came down to the sync which worked super, we realised a few things hadnt quite come from the server properly, for example they didnt have any of the tags in her outlook catagories which was odd, and the notes hadnt been saved which is a different issue.

Is there anyway to make sure the tags come down from the server as the webmails hows they are there and working fine. outlook only shows red, blue and green etc on the webmail it shows Personal etc etc.

Regarding the notes are they saved to a seperate file to be added or would they of been in the zdb that i deleted to start a new profile? could be abit of a bummer.

Any help would be super

Bugzilla 32539, released in ZCO 5.0.18, added department/title columns to the GAL browser, so that you could tell John Smith (intern) apart from John Smith (VP), for example.

This doesn't work for us. To reproduce:

Hit Control-Shift-B, choose Global Address List from the popup and "Name only" radio button. Enlarge the window to show the additional columns off to the right.

On both our 5.0.19 production server (ZCO 5.0.19 clients) and our 6.0.2 test server (6.0.2 clients), the "Department" column is always blank.

This is only true for that window. We do see "Department" filled out correctly when an individual GAL entry is opened in Outlook, when looking at zmprov sg and syg, and in the web client.

Is it just us, or is there a typo in the fix for bugzilla 32539 somewhere?

EDIT: The "Title" field is correctly populated. We're just missing "Department."

Sent folder with persona/avatar in ZCO

Hi all.

I made some searches in the forum and bugzilla but might have missed it.

We're doing some "send as" tests with persona/avatar.

Test case :
. user1 is a director, user2 is his secretary 8)
. user1 shares inbox and sent with user2 (manager rights)
. user2 creates a persona/avatar in ZCO using user1 email/name
. user2 sends a mail to user3 (anyone else)

Problem : the mail sent by user2, when using the persona/avatar pointing to user1, does not copy the sent mail to the sent folder of user2.

Is this normal (by design) and we're not using it the right way (user2 should copy manually the mail to user1's sent folder)?
Or is it a bug?

If we use the "send of behalf" (instead of persona/avatar) feature, the mail correctly goes in user1's sent folder (but the reply-to field points to user2 and this is not what we want, so we can't use this feature).

unable to install new version of outlook connector wo uninstalling the previous one

Hello,

I upgraded ZCS 3 times from 5.016 to 5.018 to 6.0.0 to 6.0.2.
Every time I re-installed the outlook connector, I tried to just install directly the new version (without uninstalling the previous one). And every time this did not work.

I re-tested it today, when upgrading from 6.0.0 to 6.0.2 (server and connector). The pb appens again today.

To make it working, I had to uninstall connector 6.0.2, re-install 6.0.0 (but it did not work anymore)... remove the connector, re-install 6.0.0 (it works) uninstall it again, and install connector 6.0.2. and then it works.
Sorry for not beeing more specific on outlook errors, but in some cases, a window just poped up telling the plugging cannot be used and outlook must be started without the pluggin; in other cases outlook started, but was not able to display any message content...

BTW: This seems to exactly the contrary of the problem reported on http://www.zimbra.com/forums/zimbra-connector-outlook/34565-clean-uninstallation-outlook-connector.html

I am using outlook 2003 SP3 on XP SP3.

Does someone experiment such problem?
