Question worker threads in firefox 3.2? - zimbra goodies?

Hi all,

Just saw this post today on arstechnica about the work going into firefox for:
  • a native JSON parser
  • support for worker threads, which provide support for concurrent execution in JavaScript
  • The HTML 5 video element
Mozilla demos impressive Firefox 3.1 features at SCALE - Ars Technica

The video down the bottom is particularly impressive - motion tracking video with javascript?!?!

I'm no web dev guru, but it looks exciting. What are peoples' opinions about what zimbra could do with this sort of tech?

The worker threads (no locking up the interface) look particularly interesting to the responsiveness of the webui.

I sure there a lot of caveats with this though, particularly that its not cross-browser atm. (although I'm sure webkit/opera will jump on with canvas support)

anyway, what do you all think?
