I've upgraded zimbra many times before without any issues and for some reason mine now won't work (That's not why I'm posting here.)
I think it started with a logger problem as well, I'd guess that 5.0.12 is fine but 5.0.11 is the causing the problems with the updates.

    Default As the smoke clears....

Well all seems well after after 5.0.8 > 5.0.12. There was one error during installation that went by so fast I didn't get it written down. And I am not able to find it in the logs. Error 144 about a failed auto repair on a crashed file failing. I've searched my logs to no avail. There were some errors in the log files that I am researching (without much luck so far).

The server seems to be performing well thus far.

Thanks again for all the responses!

Check /opt/zimbra/log/mysql_error.log as one of your tables could be corrupt.

    Default One error post upgrade.

    090201 10:56:00 [Warning] option 'max_join_size': unsigned value 18446744073709551615 adjusted to 42949
    67295

This is the only warning in that particular log uxbod. There was nothing prior to upgrade but this does appear after the upgrade. Looks like a parameter that has failed to be set by the Zimbra configuration. Thank goodness it will set its own default.

I'm still not able to identify the error I mentioned earlier but as long as things are working well I'll sit back and enjoy Zimbra.

    Thanks uxbod, thanks all.

    Default No messages

No messages found in my admin e-mail. This blows my mind.

Default Upgrade crashed the status logs db.

After an hour in the logs, everything worked perfectly until the exact time I ran the upgrade. I am convinced that it was the upgrade itself that crashed the status logger DB. My mail server was working flawlessly until the upgrade.

Oh well. Now to waste a bunch of time trying to fix the issue.

Bill, did you shutdown ZCS yourself when you upgraded or did you let the installer do it for you ? Every upgrade I have performed I have always manually shut ZCS down and ensured that all processes had been cleaned up. Perhaps this maybe something to do with it

Default My upgrade was from 5.0.8.

I let the installer do it as I have always done in the past.

I'm going to try to repair the database as per the wiki's and the forum posts. Should Zimbra be up and running or shut down when the repairs are attempted?

Do I understand correctly that there are only two mysql databases? Mail and logger?

I believe ZCS can be up as MySQL will need to be running ... Yes, that is my understanding for the instances.
