Modify the search for the forums?

It is very frustrating that it is extremely difficult to search for exact text on the forums. I have a client who is getting "Could not connect to the server". When you try to search for these "keywords" you end up searching for "could -connect server", "to" and "the" are too short or common and are removed. To be as eloquent as I can, this stinks.

I can be more eloquent.

The default search on the forums is word OR word OR word.

This is as useless, and as unacceptable, here as it is on ePinions; it's precisely the reason why I don't bother to write for ePinions anymore.

Is there any way -- any way at all -- that that default can be changed to the word AND word AND word that (I guarantee you) 100% of search users want it to be?

Causing the forum not to require "Remember Me" to keep me logged in from page to page would be nice too :-)

We hear ya!

There's a bug on this, and we're in the process of "fixing" it. As you know, the problem lies with the software we use, so we either have to fix their problem or write our own solution. And we've opted for the latter

Or did you mean "forgets who I am"?
