Advance Search Time search error "Unable to parse the search query "

I'm running Release 7.1.0_GA_3140.UBUNTU8 UBUNTU8 FOSS edition.
When I try to use the search for messages within the last hour or 4hours using the Time module I get the following error " Unable to parse the search query ".
I have traced the problem to the tick boxes constructing the search string as date:>-60min or date:>-240min It seems the search string doesn't recognise "min". The word minute or minutes is required in the search string.

Can somebody point me to the area coding that needs to be amended
