Default Zimbra Desktop BETA 4: "{0}" communication error. Please check port number.
Folks, I am using Zimbra Desktop BETA 4 on Mac OSX 10.6.4 and I have been having these issue the past 2-weeks. Refer to the text in bold-red.

Does anyone know how I can resolved it?

It looks like the communication to the server is failing intermittently. This could be somewhat normal if the timing coincides with switching from wired to wireless or other temporary network disruptions. If you want to dig further into the root cause, you could enable the http client debug logging and attach zdesktop.log after the next time it occurs.

To enable http client debug logging:
  1. Close ZD
  2. Open ~/Library/Zimbra Desktop/conf/log4j.properties w/ text editor
  3. Find the last two lines (httpclient.wire and commons.httpclient) and remove the # sign. The result should look like:

    log4j.logger.httpclient.wire=DEBUG
    log4j.logger.org.apache.commons.httpclient=DEBUG
  4. Save
  5. Restart ZD
  6. Wait for the error to occur, then take a look at zdesktop.log and attach the interesting parts.

ZD gives the following error message on screen:
