Default account.ACCOUNT_EXISTS: email address already exists

Trying to change pop account to imap account.

pop account exists in zd. i get the above error when i try to add the imap account (same email address as pop).

my goal is to move from pop to imap with the same email address. i don't want to delete the pop account unless i know everything will come back, i.e. from export file. so i'm trying to hold on to old pop while moving to imap to ensure nothing is lost.

You can't do that for the reason it's giving you in the error message.

I'd guess that it would probably be best if you created an account at gmail or yahoo (if you don't have one already) then export the mail from your current ZD account and import it into the new gmail account. When you've done that your can verify all the mail is there and if you're happy delete your current POP account and create an IMAP account. When you had the POP account did you leave the mail on the server? If you did that you should be able to get all the mail downloaded when you sync the new account.
