Default Cannot connect to "mail.mydomain.com:110". Please check host/port and network connec

Hi All,
I am using XP Pro 32bit, SP3. I am trying to set up a new account on ZD after the initial install. I use a pop3 server. I do not use SSL on incoming or outgoing mail. All the details entered are the same as what I use in Outlook, Outlook express and Eudora.

I did a telnet to mail.server.com 110 and I got the reply server OK

The following is the error messages I get;

Cannot connect to "mail.mydomain.com:110". Please check host/port and network connectivity.

Any ideas?

Rory Larkan

make sure disabling your firewall, and trying to connect using telnet, us should using username and password users on telnet, this is for testing only.

ex:

$ telnet mail.mycompany.com 110
Trying 200.0.0.1...
Connected to mail.mycompany.com (200.0.0.1).
Escape character is '^]'.
+OK International Company, LTD. Zimbra POP3 server ready
user myname@mycompany.com
+OK hello myname@mycompany.com, please enter your password
pass [mypasswordhere]
+OK server ready

[zimbra@toi-store ~]$ zmprov gs `zmhostname ` | grep -i clear
zimbraCalendarCalDavClearTextPasswordEnabled: TRUE
zimbraImapCleartextLoginEnabled: FALSE
zimbraPop3CleartextLoginEnabled: FALSE

Do you have zimbraPop3CleartextLoginEnabled enabled ?
