It looks like they fixed this issue (see bug 39605) - Bug 39605 – Yahoo address book sync error due to unsupported address field element

But it was implemented in V.2.0. This version won't be available for beta testing until 1/6/2010 (if the don't slip the date).

Can you put this fix in the current release and create a new build?
This seems to be a simple fix and all you need to do is re-compile.

So we do not have a working Zimbra Desktop until mid 2010 - 8 months from now. Zimbra is no longer viable in my estimation. Need to move to Google or something else, probably won't return.

You do realise that the date mentioned above (and in the Product Portal) and the 'real' date is January 2010, hardly eight months.

Angry Amazing!

I reported it to Yahoo address-book support. I use blackberry desktop to sync and sins the new calendar was launched trouble started.
I told both issues and their reply was that i should write intellisync support. Zimbra was not mentioned at all!!!
Is there any site that confirms system status on beta software Zimbra..its easy to keep customers satisfied, no i'm insulted...they suggested to un-install if not happy.. well if we all do that they all could go home!! Its not what I call support... my last option the give as solution! I'm so P$!@#$

I use Zimbra desktop and Zimbra cannot update/refresh contacts. Non are
shown. Either are tasks but notes do show/refresh. I cannot find a page
where Yahoo news is published so I can confirm my doubt that its
not me are the software but it has something do with Yahoos server.

I also sync my BlackBerry 9000 bold with Yahoo but the connections
breaks sins a couple of days each I try syncing with Yahoo. I use
Blackberry Desktop application from Intellisync. It seems to me that it
has to do with the calendar and/or tasks and notes in contradiction to
the problem I encounter with Zimbra.

 I would love to know what to do or hear what might be the trouble.

I get the same error message.

I am glad to hear though, that the Zimbra team has implemented a fix to this issue in V.2.0 as jrg has stated. I really do hope they will release the version on January. I love Zimbra! And hope to sync my contacts soon!

I do have a question however for the Zimbra Team...
As a temporary solution I have imported my contacts from yahoo into Zimbra Desktop.... I am concerned however, what will happen when the Fix arrives and a successful sync does happen, will all my contacts in yahoo be duplicated? Or will it overwrite my yahoo contacts accordingly?...

Some insight on this would be helpful..

Red face Temporary online sync was possible

Last night I was installing Outlook in desperate attempt to sync my BlackBerry. When done Yahoo sync was launched and synced everything!!
Zimbra sync .dll launched failed but Yahoo connector started normally. After filling in my user name and password, syncing happened. I was surprised.
After computer restart the next morning the Yahoo Connector reported .dll launch failed same with the Zimbra Outlook plugin but that happened before.
No more syncing and BlackBerry Desktop Sync reported same error messages again. To bad I didn't try to sync my BB with Yahoo straight away. I assumed problem solved but not...

Did you look at the bug report mentioned in post #11 in this thread? If you did the make a note of the bug number and check the Product Portal for details of when it will be available.
