zdesktop sync failure: duplicate key value ... SQL ... IMAP_FOLDER

All of the sudden my Zimbra desktop stopped syncing with our corporate Exchange server.

The brief error message is "Failure communicating with remote server. Please try again later."
The extended one is "Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: The statement was aborted because it would have caused a duplicate key value in a unique or primary key constraint or unique index identified by 'SQL090610134406070' defined on 'IMAP_FOLDER'."

When I tried removing the offending folder, Zimbra just choked on the next one.

I am running Zimbra Desktop 1.0 build 1593 on Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid, Gnome/xmonad on Dell Optiplex 330.

I had a similar error when I renamed a folder locally and online. I emptied and deleted the local folder in ZD then let ZD resync the folder and messages.
