All logs look fine. Please try theses:

    1) open zdesktop.webapp/webapp.ini in a text editor
    2) open the uri= in firefox

are you able to login zd this way?

(actually, had to rename zdesktop.out to zdesktop.txt and apparently installation.log is too big to post - mine is 2.4 MB.)

Yes, ZD opened up in a Firefox window using the URI in the webapp.ini file.

That's kind of what I expected after looking at your logs. Please exam (or copy and paste) the command line of your desktop icon launcher. Maybe there is some problem of that.

My desktop icon launches the following command:
    Code:
    "/home/user/zimbra/zdesktop/linux/prism/zdclient" -webapp "/home/user/zimbra/zdesktop/zdesktop.webapp" -override "/home/user/zimbra/zdesktop/zdesktop.webapp/override.ini" -profile "/home/user/zimbra/zdesktop/profile"

ZD won't launch from a term window either. Same result as trying to launch from desktop shortcut - it looks like it is going to start but comes up with the "Couldn't access Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop server..." error message.

Here's what showed up in the terminal window when I tried to run it:

Just wanted to add that I've upgraded ZD on the same PC under a test account that I have setup and it works fine. It is clearly something in my "profile" that is causing the problem. I'm pretty much ready to wipe out my whole installation and start from scratch. I haven't done anything with local folders or external accounts, so it shouldn't be a big deal to start from scratch. Before I do that though I'd like to help troubleshoot the problem if possible. Is there any way to turn up the debugging level or anything like that?

We appreciate you are taking time and helping us out here.

Your webapp.ini looks correct, and like you said earlier, that uri worked in firefox. This is quite weird.

Can you rename webapp.js, which can be found in the same directory as webapp.ini, to something like webapp.backjs, and try to run zd again?
