Default Search not working in contacts

The normal search function in contacts is no longer working. It was working perfectly fine (wild card searches etc. worked great).

Here is what I did when it stopped working:

Preferences ---> Global ----> UNCHECK Show advanced search language

Since then it has not worked. It works fine in mail. Also, I have changed it back, exited, restarted etc. and none of that works.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Trying reindexing your account by selecting the Reindex option in the setup page.
