Default Attachments do not display

I've had a problem lately where I get an email that shows that it should have an attachment. However when you open the email there is no attachment beside the Attachment label in the header.

I have found that if I forward the email to myself the attachment magically appears in the header. This doesn't happen all the time but does from certain sites. The latest site is symantec.

From: electroniclicensing@symantec.com

Has anyone else had this problem or know of a solution?

That's because there's a moderation system for new members so we can vet for spam, you'd have seen that if you read the message.

I had a user report this same problem to me today. The attachment displays correctly in the web client but not in the desktop client.

Any update on a fix? I have attached a message which demonstrates the problem.

I am having similar problems with an email message. The images are not showing up inline and they do not show in the header section of the message either. It shows a broken thumbnail image where the inline messages are suppose to appear. When you forward the message, the attachments show in the header section and you can click on the mime-attachment link and the image opens correctly in a new window. This tells me that the browser can display the image correctly, so why aren't they displaying in the message body?

And how are users suppose to know to click on the forward button in order to see the attachment links in the header section of the message. Here is the message source:
