Default account.ACCOUNT_EXISTS: email address already exists:

Hi,

I get this message when adding an email account.
The account is on the same mail server and domain as one that already exists.

Please advice.

Is this Zimbra Desktop or ZImbra Collaboration Suite?

you are running into this bug, which we plan to fix it soon: Bug 35877 – allow setting up multiple accounts that share each other's folders

the work around is
1) using web client, unlink (unmount) any shared folders between the two accounts you are trying to set up on ZD.
2) delete the existing account on ZD
3) add both accounts

Post account.ACCOUNT_EXISTS

Hello,

I have the same error.

I am only using ZD, so do not know how to:

"using web client, unlink (unmount) any shared folders between the two accounts you are trying to set up on ZD"

Thank you

Mark

Adding your post to thread that's almost two years old isn't a good idea. The above mentioned bug report was fixed in ZD 1 build 1626, which version are you actually using?

There are two 'latest versions', ZD 2.x & ZD 7 beta 1 - which one did you download? Which type of server are you connection to and how are you downloading the mail, is it POP or IMAP?

Hi Bill,

ZD 2.01 Build 10659

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8pre) Gecko/20100725 Prism zdesktop/2.0.1

I have only installed Zimbra Desktop (no server? I think)

I have set up yahoo email accounts and the one that is failing is also a yahoo email account. I assume that means I am connecting via POP.

Thanks for your help

Mark
