Question main Inbox shows no items (but it does in web UI)

    Hi,

I set up Zimbra open source edition (5.0.13) on Ubuntu LAMP, and got it running just fine.
Even the Funambol sync works perfectly with my WM6 device

After using the wonderfull Zimbra webinterface for some days, I decide to try the Zimbra Desktop version (win32 v1.0 build 1482).
Installation went fine, and after loading it displays all my folders (Inbox with subfolders, Contacts and Calendar).
The sync status icon is green, so all is well according to Zimbra Desktop.

However, my main Inbox (and the subfolders) are all empty.
Contacts and Calendar contents are fine.
I also have another shared mail folder (other user), which displays the emails in there also just fine.

When looking at the zdesktop.log I see some strange messages telling me that all emails from my inbox folders are deleted and therefor skipped?
    ---
    2009-02-28 16:36:54,924 DEBUG [mid=2] [] offline - initial: created folder (id=681 type=folder): Shop \ Zakelijk
2009-02-28 16:36:54,971 INFO [mid=2] [] offline - initial: messages have been deleted; skipping
    --
    See attached full log.
The previous Desktop version build 1433 also shows this error.

When I create a mail in Zimbra Desktop, and send it, the 'Sent Items' box is empty. When viewing it in the web version, the Sent Items folder does show the just sent email.
I tried reindexing, deleting, removing and reinstalling, but no luck.
Also setting up another account shows the same results.

Is this a Zimbra Desktop bug or should I alter a settings on the server?

    Regards,

    Cyril

This doesn't look right. Could you please file a bug with the log first? And then could you please try doing a reset (from Account Setup) to see if sync works? Thanks!

    Thanks for responding.
I did a reset from Account Setup, but that didn't solve the problem.
I'll file a bug now (first time).

As the post asked earlier, please file a bug as the o/p doesn't seem to have done that and also include the log file data. When asking about features or bug fixes you should check bugzilla first.

    Lightbulb Bugzilla

    Hi,

I'm the original poster and I did create a Bugzilla entry (#35778) for this.
The bug is marked as 'resolved' and the resolution is set to 'Invalid'.
I gave support access to my server to reproduce the error, and this was the comment:

    > It looks like this issue is caused by ZCS server misconfiguration. A correctly
    > configured ZCS should redirect /home to /services/home, but this particular
    > install doesn't do that.
    > For example, the following REST url should allow a client to download messages
    > as tgz stream, but we get a 404 from this server instead:
    > Based on this, I'm closing this bug as INVALID.

Since then I did not change anything in the configuration, and still use the webbased version, which works 100%.

    Regards,

    Cyril

(I do not use the Zimbra Desktop anymore; only the web version)

Thanks for the feedback, I missed your bug report earlier when I looked.

    thank you for your reply.
I can not find where to configure server to redirect. all the settings in my server are default.
I can download zipped file by:
    http://mymailbox/zimbra/user/username/inbox.zip

but I cannot open the zipped file.

if I download contacts in csv format, there is no problem. just like in zdesktop I can see all my contacts.

    sorry about the post.
    my zimbra desktop works now.
maybe because of my email server settings, there are several domains, and not all the domains works. I have not figured out.

    Thanks
