Default POP3 server without UIDL extension

I´d like to bring up an old subject again since browsing the forums I haven´t found any solution. Zimbra doesn´t support POP3 servers that don´t support UIDL. This affects my own 3 GMX accounts and other mail hosts of many other would-be zimbra users aswell.
I currently use Opera M2 and Outlook. I have also tried Evolution, Revolver and Spicebird. Fetching mails from GMX and leaving messages on server was never a problem.
The problem has been documented 6 months ago. Don´t you consider this a serious issue? Does the admin team plan to solve this any time soon or should I uninstall zimbra which I like a lot otherwise?

The correct plave to look for the status of a bug/RFE is bugzilla, have you searched there? Vote for any reported bugs you find or create a bug report and vote on it, a bug will only be addressed if it's entered in bugzilla and that also will ensure it gets to the attention of the developers.

This very bug was filed in August last year. I linked to the respective bugzilla entry in my post above. It´s all there, unfixed.

Did you actually vote on the bug as I mentioned above? Have you looked in the Product Portal to see when the bug is targeted for release?

O.k., I have now. I wasn´t familiar with the voting system. Thanks for the insight.
The issue doesn´t seem a priority to anybody which answers my question - is zimbra, or will it be any time soon, of any use for me as a pop3 user who wants to keep messages on the server after fetching. I guess it won´t, I´ll stick with Spicebird.

The second question in my last post will give you the answer. Check the Product Portal for the bug number on the next release of Zimbra (6.x).
