Exclamation Zimbra hanging up at splash screen

I've installed the Desktop version into the default directory, but the program keeps getting hung up while trying to start up.

All i see is the white box, with the three red dots (road, plug, plane)

Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forums,

Anything interesting in your <install>/zimbra/zdesktop/zdesktop.log/.out ?
Operating system?

Toggle the background service then visit the web-ui localhost:7633 or load prism (the icon you have somewhere on your panel/desktop/app launcher) & check the logs.

Linux:
cd /home/user/zimbra/zdesktop (or wherever installed)
./zdesktop start

Win:
Start > Run (or win-r)
services.msc
Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop Service
stop/start

Mac:
cd /users/user/zimbra/zdesktop (whatever install directory)
launchctl start com.zimbra.zdesktop

Linux & Mac log files are easy to find from above, but Win is usually:
drive:\zimbra\zdesktop\log if you started out on an earlier version, or the %USERPROFILE% enviromental variable on later versions.
Vista drive:\Users\username\AppData(hidden folder)\Local\Zimbra\zdesktop\log
XP drive:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Zimbra\zdesktop\log

Have you checked that your firewall has the correct ports open?

If you are careful, you can temporarily drop it, for a minute, and see if the client comes up fully. Then, turn your firewall back on IMMEDIATELY!
