Gmail Account Setup Issue

I am running Ubuntu 8.10 with the Zimbra Desktop client connecting to my personal gmail account. I have the same set up on both a Windows and Linux PC at home. For some reason, when I create the account on my notebook, I get the following error:

"imap.gmail.com:993" host not found. Please check hostname and network connectivity.

I checked the account settings, and IMAP is enabled. My Linux desktop and Windows desktop connect and download my mail just fine. Did I miss something stupid?

HELP!?!?!...................... please.
