Default MacOSX Version select A is not CMD+A

MacOS X Standards (see HIG specs at Apple Human Interface Guidelines: Keyboard Shortcuts Quick Reference ) indicate that CMD A should be used for select all, however in the Mac version of Zimbra Desktop Beta 5 - the key sequence is CTRL A. While many people will figure this out, it is a deviation form the guidelines however annoying it may be

Default check the message list

Goto the message list where it shows all your messages. Lets say you wanted to select all of them in that given folder (e.g. checkmark all of them). If you use CMD+A it does not work on my system (latest release 10.5.5). If you press CTRL+A it does.

CMD+A does work inside the message (the viewer).

Sorry, I should have tested deeper.

OK I see what you mean now. Well, the Ctrl+A to select all message in current list view is a feature called "ui shortcuts", and that uses keyboard combo that remain the same across all platforms.

The select all text in compose window feature is provided by the underlying chrome, and therefore behave more like a webbrowser.

If the message select issue really bothers you, please file an RFE at Log in to Bugzilla
