    I thought it may have been a problem with my companies proxy so I edited /zdesktop/win32/prism/xulrunner/greprefs/all.js as follows

    pref("network.proxy.type", 2);
    //@line 798 "e:\xr19rel\WINNT_5.2_Depend\mozilla\modules\libpr ef\src\init\all.js"

    pref("network.proxy.ftp", "");
    pref("network.proxy.ftp_port", 0);
    pref("network.proxy.gopher", "");
    pref("network.proxy.gopher_port", 0);
    pref("network.proxy.http", "");
    pref("network.proxy.http_port", 8080);
    pref("network.proxy.ssl", "");
    pref("network.proxy.ssl_port", 8080);
    pref("network.proxy.socks", "");
    pref("network.proxy.socks_port", 1080);
    pref("network.proxy.socks_version", 5);
    pref("network.proxy.socks_remote_dns", false);
    pref("network.proxy.no_proxies_on", "localhost,");
    pref("network.proxy.failover_timeout", 1800); // 30 minutes
    pref("", true); //online/offline
    pref("network.cookie.cookieBehavior", 0); // 0-Accept, 1-dontAcceptForeign, 2-dontUse
    pref("network.cookie.disableCookieForMailNews", true); // disable all cookies for mail
    pref("network.cookie.lifetimePolicy", 0); // accept normally, 1-askBeforeAccepting, 2-acceptForSession,3-acceptForNDays
    pref("network.cookie.alwaysAcceptSessionCookies", false);
    pref("network.cookie.prefsMigrated", false);
    pref("network.cookie.lifetime.days", 90);

    // The PAC file to load. Ignored unless network.proxy.type is 2.
    pref("network.proxy.autoconfig_url", "");

    trying both proxy type 1 and 2..... still no joy. Anyone got any ideas?! Thanks a mill!

    I get the same, and I've read a number of other posts about the same issue. Seems this one must have them stumped.

    Having looked at the problem some more, I think it may be an issue with how Jetty handles proxies.... not the prism desktop client. I'm no closer to a solution though unfortunately
