Default Resource Booking

Hi,

Will you be including a resource booking feature and limit the calendar meeting location portion to the resources created by administrator? If you would, when will it be?

It will be a great feature so that we can know the booking of the resource. Exchange claims to be able to do that.

Thanks.

We do plan on adding resources to our calendar. No date at this time.

One thing you can do is create regular accounts, call them resource accounts, and delegate their calendars to someone internally that manages resources. The resource manager can then manage resource requests from within the resource's calendar and mark accept/tentative/decline. Meeting organizers would just invite the resource account to their meeting.

Have you tried this? Does this help with your resources need?

There's no *date* but we are working on it. So sometime this year for sure.

Excellent. I am presenting Zimbra as a solution to a Major hospital that has around 6,000 mail users and this was the only issue they had with it. Outside of not having resource scheduling, they (and myself) are super impressed with zimbra. It is a very attractive and enterprise level solution.

The plan will be to have this functionality in our next release. So be on the lookout later this month. It's already in the current developer builds.
