now this is nice to see, as soon as I fly back into my office I'll install this on one of our labs sparc boxes.

Would love to be able to ditch CentOS for Solaris, everything here is Solaris except the Zimbra servers.

Question re-attempting port myself

Hi,

Does this mean information relating to your port is not currently available? I want to re-attempt a port to Solaris 10 based on zcs-4.5.5_GA_832-src.tgz

There's a previous thread here where I mentioned I was working on an old Subversion source revision, but I abandoned it. I'll go back to my notes for this new attempt. Perhaps I can actually publish something useful as a result... I know a working system would be useful to my employer. :-)

So - if there's a crib sheet for this - can you make it available?

Thanks.

the solaris port for x86 and sparc is 99.9% finished and I had already published older working packages, i'm waiting for the svn source tree to reopen before I submit patches and up to date installer packages.

Excuse my ignorance, but
1) where are the older packages found
and 2) can you make the newer ones available elsewhere?

If you're short on server space, I have colo'd Svn, etc, that I can offer you.

They're not anymore, they contain the known security issues from previous zimbra releases so have been pulled.

When they're done, yes! (ie, they're don't exist currently)

Appreciate the offer, have lots of server space etc cheers. What I really need is testing and feedback. I put a huge effort into porting zimbra to solaris, released several test builds on sparc and x86, almost fully functional, and did not get a *single* piece of feedback or test results. hence there is no current release because I can't be bothered to sit down and do it again off a tarball, as there is no svn tree to track.

I'm ready to test immediately. Are those security issues in 4.5.5_GA?

OK I'll start to rebuild a new version based on 4.5.5 and 5.0b1 on Sunday, expect at least a week or so before a package is ready because I have to start from scratch.

Has anyone had any luck running 5.0b1 on any platform?

Yes, I'm just running it on Ubuntu 6.0. It sort of works (except for instant messaging, which appears to be broken or I don't understand it). Is there a
changelog or introduction to new features of 5.0?

Anyways, I'm here because I'm looking forward for Solaris 10 build. Will you
also post recipe how to build it from scratch? (Sort of description of dependencies and shell script or howto)?

Thanks,

J.
