Thumbs down Mysql is not running

Hi iam building zcs4.o on my linux box.I got the installable.while running the installable it is displaying this error

ERROR::
Initializing Documents...failed to initialize documents...see logfile for details....

I had observed in log logfile tmp/zmsetup.log

Initializing Documents...
*** Running as zimbra user: /opt/zimbra/bin/zmprov mc default zimbraFeatureNotebookEnabled TRUE

[] INFO: I/O exception (java.net.ConnectException) caught when processing request: Connection refused

[] INFO: Retrying request
[] INFO: I/O exception (java.net.ConnectException) caught when processing request: Connection refused

I checked with the services.Mysql and tomcat is not running.while running mysql it shows error

ERROR>>>
ysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)'
Check that mysqld is running and that the socket: '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' exists!

I found that mysql.sock is missing.I think some files are missing.

Please help me to resolve this issue.

Chinnu.

Please don't post the same message to several threads, it makes it difficult to follow the problem. I'll delete your other post.

Have you searched the forums? This topic has been been covered before. Was there also more erors in the logs than you have posted?

you're using the wrong mysql/mysqladmin - that looks like a system one that is pointing to /var/lib/mysql which is standard place for system mysql dbs. the zimbra mysql should look for socket in /opt/zimbra/db/mysql.sock

Default Error in Mysql Build

Hi Thanks for your reply.I made the zcs4.o build again.There is error like

Error::
cp: cannot stat `/opt/zimbra/mysql-standard-4.1.20-pc-linux-gnu-i686-glibc23/include/mysql/*':

So i created mysql directory in mysql-standard-4.1.20-pc-linux-gnu-i686-glibc23,and archieved it.while running build it is expecting some files in the opt/zimbra/mysql-standard-4.1.20-pc-linux-gnu-i686-glibc23/include/mysql directory.Please help me in this.

Regards-
Syamala
