Push information from zimbra to third party apps??

As the title already states i am really curious about the possibilities for Zimbra to actively push information to external apps as a CRM or HRM system. I have looked at many different posts about this, but none seem to be answered. I would really like to know if it even is possible or not?

The 'push' is used by IMAP idle on the client.

Thank you for that i have been looking for this quite some time now :] However, is it also possible to push other information besides mail such as Tasks and contacts? Imap kinda makes it sound as purely mail :]

So there is no way to actively sync your contacts/tasks with other apps like with your mail?
