Default Direct integration of alfresco in zimbra

Hello

We've plan to create a direct integration of Alfresco into zimbra. I've already tested the alfresco zimlet but found that its very buggy and not production ready for several reasons. I would rater build a solution which replaces the datastore in zimbra with a "redirector" to alfresco.

Is there any documentation about the document store implementation in zimbra and how to extend it to external storage such as alfresco? Or can I get some help in implementing this? The solution will be released under the GPL.

Thanks in advance

Roland Kaeser

I would be insterested very much in this!

I was thinking about something like that, like having an "Alfresco" briefcase in Zimbra and access Alfresco storage from there.

Please let me know how you progress on this, and if you need any help I'd be happy to participate.

the latest alfresco has imap access to the store, but apparently zimbra does not work with the imap implementation.

Might be easier to fix zimbra imap implementation than creating something to redirect to the store

Default Datastore

The idea was more that in zimbra must be a kind of datastore api on which the Zimbra notes and files application relay on. This "datastore api" should be repaceable by a custom one which provides the same api interface but stores and loads the data from a alfresco server. It should change nothing in the the frontend but should show the contents of the alfreso server instead of the local zimbra store.

All I would need for this is a Zimbra Developer which provide me with some conceptional information how the datastore in zimbra is realized and which java classes I should read and reimplement to achieve this custom datastore.

Regards

Roland
