Default OpenOffice.org Integration With Google Docs and Zoho

Upgraded to the SuSE build of OOo 3.2 and just noticed a new File menu item that enables import/export from/to Google Docs and Zoho, along with a WebDAV export.

Will this work with Zimbra? If so, how please?

Would Zimbra consider collaborating with OOo to get Zimbra added to the the menu item list?

All the best,
Mark

Now that would be sweet!

But apart from the branding issue (i.e. getting a "cool" link that says Zimbra), isn't a properly working WebDAV handler all that is required? I mean, if OO already has support for it.

Not sure; I'm not a programmer -- hence my original post! :-)

We'll try after we complete the upgrade to 6.0.6 shortly and report back.

Thanks for the bump!

All the best,
Mark

I just downloaded OOo 3.2 from the website to try that out, but didn't see the link. But what I did do was open a file directly from my Briefcase and save it back directly there. Which is really cool!

What I did was open the file using https://[servername]/dav/[username_without_domain]/Briefcase/ and looked it up from there.

It's not the most comfortable of ways (having to type the full URL in) but it works.

We use the Novell OpenOffice builds, which include better import/export filters and other enhancements not in the vanilla OOo builds.

The URL is Your Office Suite

The lead maintainer is very responsive to the community and is active on the OpenSuse forums.

Hope that helps,
Mark

I tried this with the Mac build of the Novell edition, but no luck. It seems this option uses OS webdav support. Mac webdav support is incomplete, so the OOo webdav support is absent. A shame really, application level webdav support would be pretty good in itself. OS level support would be even better, of course.
