Reusing existing server infrastructure

I am a packager of PLD Linux Distribution and I am starting to work on packaging zimbra. I need to make it use already exxisting packages for apache, openldap etc. Are there any patches to servers that are used in zimbra in the zimbra repository or will it work with the server vanilla releases?

If you checkout the source you will find that some of the third-party components have been patched. Also note that many locations are hard-coded into the zimbra source.
