Default Multiple Flash upload

Hi,

I think currently the most important part of emails are attachments.

We leave in 21 st century, and we sending many photos, mp3, project or any other files by e-mail.

I have to ask, are you concern to allow multiple file upload at this same time, the best idea will be in flash.

there you can see demo
SWFUpload Demos - Application Demo

for me, this idea gets 10 / 10 score.
Fast, simple.
Allow to chose 5 mp3, 2 docs in time, just select using ctrl.

No clicking, "add more attachment".
One click, and everything will be uploaded.

For people what won't use flash, you can make option in preferences "use flash upload" or default.

Regards

I like the functionality, not sure about the dependence on Flash.

I gather the general concept (not specifically Flash-based) is an RFE in bugzilla: http://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=7561 but I can't get to it at the moment. For Mozilla you can apparently use this plugin: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2190

Apparently multiple-file upload is part of HTML 5, implemented in Safari 4. See Multiple File Upload Support in Safari 4 Public Beta. So as this becomes supported in the major browsers, the idea of using Flash/Java/plugin should become moot.

No, no, no, no, please god no. Keep Flash out of Zimbra. Period!

The beauty of Zimbra is that you don't need any extra plugins, applets, extensions, add-ons, etc. It's all pure HTML+JavaScript. Let's keep it that way.

The less reliance on Flash on the Internet, the better off everyone will be!
