Seperate the different components

I am really interested in installing Zimbra for both my personal email, as well as at my work, but the relying of out of date third party software is concern. Is there a way to build just the Zimbra server, with already installed third party software? I can configure the software if need be. If there are patches to make the third party software work, I can apply those as well. I just want to make sure all the software that is not Zimbra itself is up to date.

Welcome to the forums

This has been covered my times in the forums. Unfortunately due to changes Zimbra makes you cannot do what you are thinking. The only real component you can update safely is ClamAV.
