Default Monitoring Zimbra with Zenoss

Hi everybody,

I'm interested in monitoring Zimbra with Zenoss. I am monitoring the linux host for CPU usage/disk/network traffic etc but I would also be interested in more Zimbra information.

Is there a way to get information out of zimbra from the cli? And with information I mean things like:

* number of accounts\
* number of send messages
* number of received messages
* number of deferred/active/corrupt/etc messages
* etc

I would very much appreciate your help.

Best regards,

Tijmen

Welcome to the forums

ZCS stores a lot of details within a mysql instance so you could potentially query that ... Alternatively a perl script which queries the tables and sends SNMP traps would also achieve the result.
Code:
su - zimbra
logmysql
use zimbra_logger;
mysql> show tables;
+-------------------------+
Tables_in_zimbra_logger
+-------------------------+
amavis
amavis_aggregate
config
disk_aggregate
disk_status
mta
mta_aggregate
processing_history
raw_logs
service_status
+-------------------------+

Are you sure it is running its own SNMP daemon ? I can not see one running.

If you can get it working, I'd be interested as well. I am looking at Zenoss to replace our older Nagio system which bit the dust a month back.

I know this thread is right on the line of starting to get stale, but ..... we would really like this functionality as well, so I just thought I'd ping everyone & see what was the latest. (I also get to subscribe to the thread)

Thanks everyone !

Like gentux, I am able to monitor the basics, using the LinuxSSH plugin. It would be nice to have Zimbra specific information as well. I want to see everything (ALL of my servers and apps) in a single pane of glass. Is there any work being done on a Zenoss plugin for Zimbra?
