MAPI Plugin
Hello,
i am looking for a posibility to access to Zimbra via Mapi so that i can send mails from any Windows application.
I also contacted Habitech to ask if they can do so. The answer is that it is not possible because of a lack in the interfaces of Zimbra (dealing with attachments).
So my question is: Can I send mails via SOAP to Zimbra including attachments?
If not, this might be a k.o. criteria, because I have to connect my ERP - programm to Zimbra .

Welcome to the forums :)
Why can't you inject the messages using normal SMTP ?

Hello,
thank you for reply.
Does a mail send by SMTP appear in the Databases of Zimbra (=appear in the web interface)?
We just run in mess with another server-based web application like Zimbra. There the SMTP is the layer beneath the web-application so that talking through SMTP is working around the application. That means that it does not recognize the e-mail.

So are you wanting to send emails, via Zimbra, out to other people and then have it appear in the Sent folder ? Your initial message seemed to imply you just wanted to inject emails into Zimbra for local delivery.

It might be a little missunderstanding,
but YES that is exactly what we like to do!
Conclusion:
- Sending mails from Windows..unsing "Send to" (function)
- Openoffice.org Sending Documents...
- Acrobat Reader ...
- much more..
Idea: redirect Mapi-Interface (just testing it) and enhance it to send SOAP or perhaps SMTP.

Hello,
now I am a step more close to it all.
1. I could get my own mapi.dll running and fetching the mails from applications including attachments.
2. On the other side I got a little soap-application to test the Zimbra-interfaces. I could get an AuthRequest successfully running.
Question: To deliver an e-mail I found no usefull example anywhere, so I need one.
Is it possible to make the e-Mail composer of Zimbra run via soap ?

If you configure thunderbird or another windows mail client for the zimbra account with imap and its preference to copy sent items to the server then all windows functionality will send via this app and zimbra will have copies in the Sent folder. Maybe they will add this to zimbra desktop.
