Default Sieve Filter Rule

Hello All,
I am seeing a bit of a problem in the parsed rules. I see extra square brackets( [, ] ) and quotes ( ", " ) added, especially in the k0 and k1 fields after the rule is parsed. This causes a problem, if you are trying to append another rule to the existing one and then save it, because these extra characters become a part of the old rule. Is there a way to get around this? I have traced this problem to SieveFactory.parse(), but thats how far I can go. Please post your suggestions.
