How to send email using zimbra client?

May I know How to send email using zimbra client?

more information please ? Web client / SOAP / command line ?

either one which applied... [ I think web client and SOAP is applicable ]

I plan to develop a simple Application that can trace the message that sent out status...

Plan:
1. Must know how to send email ?
2. Get the msgid then store into a database/text file.
3. Trace with zmmsgtrace using msgid...

So far I know zmmsgtrace need the msg id...
But I don't think that I need to use the Zimbra provide interface because the application is a back end processing... [ without interface ].

That why I say for it....
