Configuring search in AutoCompletGAL in Zimbra

Hi,

I was studying the AutoComplet GAL requests fired from zimbra Client.Ijust noticed that even if user types single character while composing mail the AutoCompleteGAL request is fired.
Is there any specific reason for this becuase it might be performance bottlneck to load all the recods satrting with any particular charcter/letter.

Can this be configurable in the sence that asking UI to fire the request only when user has typed atleast 3 or more charcters?

Any guidance on help in this area will be highly appreciated.
