retain reading pane size

It would be great if the reading pane could retain its position. Currently, it seems to occupy the lower 50% of the window. I think it would be nice if its position would be saved, or if there was an option to set how many message lines to display above it. E.g. Show 5 message lines.

Yes these sort of implicit prefs are something we should add. Feel free to *remind* us via bugzilla.
