Question Sieve Mailfilter - Not working with shared subfolders?

If i try to create a sieve filter and select as the action "folder" and select a subfolder of a shared folder it throws an error:

Code:
...
system failure: unable to create inexistent folder btc-test/btc-test-subfolder
...
Is this a known limitation of zimbra? If so this is a real problem for us since most of our folders are subfolders of some shared folder of the office user. Not to be able to select these folders as a target for sieve filters is really a showstopper.

Are you sure you're on 5.0.8? Because Bug 26422 – Filter trying to "File into folder" a shared folder fails was marked as fixed for 5.0.7.

I am absolutely sure!

I use the open source edition if this makes a difference but still i use a fresh 5.0.8 Installation.

It happens every time and is always reproducible.

The Full Error Message in the Ajax UI:

Code:
Fehler im Netzwerkdienst msg: system failure: unable to create inexistent folder (BTC-Admin/Software-Info/Typo3/typo3-de) in rule "typo3de"
code: service.FAILURE
method: SaveRulesRequest
detail: soap:Receiver
trace: btpool0-19:1217515532521:e84d01af5b4d1a9a
Even if i add rwidxa rights on the root folder for my account it does not help!

Could i help somehow to debug this?

yeah not working in zcs-NETWORK-5.0.8_GA_2462.SLES10_64.20080709155101 either

The bug report talks as if they were able to create the filter in the first place, it just wouldnt work. perhaps if the filter is created at the command line it works, just hte web ui is still broken?

Looks like the store-into-shared-folder logic is good, but the create-subfolder-of-shared-folder logic is not. Please file a bug in bugzilla, and as a stopgap please hand-create that subfolder under the shared folder.

The "unable to create inexistant folder" message comes up even when selecting to file into an already created folder

That's all very weird. I'm going to try to grab the engineer who knows that hunk of the code best.

I am sorry that i did not describe the error exactly enough:

It's the same for me i can select an existing shared folder as the target for a sieve filter but i can not select a already existing subfolder of this shared folder as a target.

(Could be related?:
Could it be that the logic involved with shared folders and subfolders is a bit weired anyway because moving large messages between my personal folders is fast but moving a message into a shared folder is slow - moving a very large message to a shared folder is sometimes even impossible.)

Should i wait to open a bug report or will dcarp file the bug?

Thanks for your reply!
