LDAP Access after Update to 5.04

Almost a year ago I install 4.5 and everything was working fine. I wrote a script in php that connects to Zimbra's LDAP. We also used LDAP in thunder bird for our address book. Things worked fine until I upgraded to 5.04. Now my php script no longer connects. PHP states it is unable to bind. But yet thunderbird still connects. Any ideas on where to start trouble shooting. I check the ldap passwd, and it is still the same as before the upgrade. Any Help

I reset the ldap password and I still cant connect. I even tried connecting from the zimbra box.

ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s: Can't contact LDAP server (-1)

zmcontrol says ldap is running, and zimbra seems to be running fine.
