Default How does the basic html Zimbra client communicate with zimbra server?

Hi,

While navigating the basic html zimbra client,I found it very light weight and fast in terms of response.
I wanted to know how does it communciate with server ?Does it use SOAP over HTTP ?

This query came to my mind beacuse i do not find differernt server code for difference clients(basic, advanced). In the case of the advanced client it fires request in the form of SOAP over HTTP and expects the response in JSON format.

As against this in basic client it does fire the request in http form an dgets the response in html form.
But somehow i could not understand the request conversion to SOAP format?

Can anyone provide me help on this area?

Any pointers or hints will be of great help to me in arriving at some decisions.

Thanking in advance

Thanks
-Sudhir
