Default DKIM Coming?

I see Yahoo is one of the supporters of DKIM, so I am curious if Zimbra's plans for DKIM-enabling ZCS are now on the fast-track?

Bug #11524 indicates Zimbra would need to wait for Amavis 2.6 series for DKIM support (I added myself to this bug), which is currently in pre-release.

I see in the Amavis 2.6 release notes that per-host, as well as per-domain, key signing is possible, and I would encourage Zimbra to adopt that feature to simplify things for those of us hosting multiple domains on a Zimbra host.

Thanks,
Mark

Mark - are you able to email to yahoo w/out DKIM? All email that originates from my mail servers to yahoo gets spammed. Reverse DNS is setup properly.

I can certainly send mail to yahoo accounts without DKIM on my Zimbra server. If you're having a problem then post some details of it here including Zimbra version & release plus any errors from the log files.

No problems on our systems or our clients' systems sending email to Yahoo without having implemented DKIM.

If you are having problems, I'd recommending checking things like PTR, SPF and other public DNS records for your domain.

We just went through a situation where one of our clients allowed their web developer/host to manage their public DNS. Their hosting account comes bundled with email services, but the client was using their own email server. The web developer accepted the default SPF record and of course the client's mail server was not listed, only the web host's. Soon, the client found their email to certain domains failing because the receiving domain was doing hard SPF checking.

Inaccurate and/or non-existing PTR records we also find can adversely impact mail delivery.

You can a great report on your domain at DNS Network Tools: Network Monitoring and DNS Monitoring from DNSstuff (we subscribe).

Hope that helps,
Mark
