External link to a specific message
I'm working on integrating Zimbra with our intranet home page. We'd like to display users' inboxes and calendars on the portal, and allow them to click on a email in the portal and go straight into Zimbra to view that message.
I have successfully built the portal up to the point where users can click a link to go stright into Zimbra without logging in (using pre-auth), but I'm not sure how to have Zimbra open up a specific message automatically. Is this possible? I'd also love to be able to link directly to a specific calendar item or day, as well.
Thanks,
Ron
External link to a specific message
I was able to link straight to a message but only in the Standard Version interface. Actually, that's how I found out how to do it. If you click on the Standard Version button up top and then click on any message it shows a URL similiar to this:
http://mailserver/zimbra/h/search?si...w&id=NNN&xim=1
(NNN is the message ID number)
Since we lose a lot of functionality in the Standard Version I am still trying to link to messages in their Advanced Version interface. We have a channel in our portal that shows the user's inbox and we would like to take the user directly to the message when they click on it in the channel instead of taking them to the Zimbra interface and making them click (once again) on the message they wanted to see.
If anyone find a solution, please post. I find it strange that they allow you to open messages in this manner but only in the Standard Version. Maybe the Advanced Version is not all that advanced.
