Default Accessing MySQL database without killing tomcat process?

Hi there,

I've found that if I edit the /opt/zimbra/conf/my.cnf file so that the bind address is set to either the IP or hostname of the server as opposed to just localhost, when restarting all services the tomcat server will just die.

My reason for changing it was so that I could gain access to the database via a windows-based gui tool as we're trying to integrate an existing system with the zimbra and need to work out what tables/columns we need to work with.

Changing the bind address to the ip or hostname lets me in fine but as I said it seems to kill the tomcat server causing me to lose access to all e-mail.

Has anyone else come across this?

I'm currently on 4.5.9.

Thanks
The Fold

Tomcat may be attempting to bind to the localhost, and not the actual ZCS server name. If you change the bind address to 0.0.0.0 it should listen on all IPs then.
