Default Zimbra 5.0rc2?

I noticed that the portal page has two dates for RC2 now, which normally indicates a release, but the downloads page still lists RC1 as the latest.

Was the PM site updated prematurely, or was the downloads page just not updated yet?

RC1 is still the latest version.

Neither of those is correct, they were the target dates. As with a project of this magnitude and complexity, the date for release has slipped. It will be released as soon as it's ready, it will be soon but no date yet.

Building Zimbra using Perforce - Zimbra :: Wiki

We're still working on getting it out. It's currently in the QA stage and should be available within the next few weeks.
