    Unhappy Zindus support stopped

Zindus is no more supported on newest versions of Thunderbird (24). Any alternatives?

    Argh!

Thunderbird ESR has now been merged with the main Thunderbird releases.

Install old version, sync contacts, update TB.

    Cumbersome....

For those on 24 series or ESR 24 you can use SOGo frontend addons to sync address books via DAV.

    Grab it here:
    SOGo: Frontends

    Once installed:

Go to Address Books -> File -> New -> Remote Addressbook

Set name to whatever you prefer and the url format should be:
    https://mail.domain.co.uk[ort]/dav/User/Contacts/

Change "Contacts" and "User" to the book and user respectively. (Port is optional, only if used.)

If your Address Book has a space in it's name such as "Emailed Contacts" it should become "Emailed%20Contacts" in the URL.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks Jake,

Unfortunately SOGo will not even ask for username and password (yes, I did right click -> sync).

I also tried Chacal Carddav extension without success.

Any other alternatives? There do not seem to be any Card Dav extensions for Thunderbird....

    Thx

Default zpush and tzpush are working

    Hello Everybody,

it took me a really long time to get every bit of information synced between all my devices and last week i got even contacts synced with my thunderbird. There is the extension tzpush that works for me as i already had an configured z-push installation:

    https://addons.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/addon/tzpush/

it's developed for zarafa, but works fine with zimbra. i ran into all the problems with zindus and sogo as everone else here, but this solution finally worked. it's a piece of work to configure z-push to extend zimbras foss capabilities and no solution for non-admin users, but if you're running your own zimbra server, i can confirm: this is working
