Default [SOLVED] Zimbra branding: how to rename the main directory

Hi everyone. My apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong forum.

I'm fairly new to zimbra, so please bare with me. I'm try to rebrand an existing zimbra installation, and I'd like to be able to change the main user URL from "http://mail.ourserver.com/zimbra/mail" to "http://mail.ourserver.com/somethingelse/mail". I was hoping that the folder could be renamed, and a configuration setting be changed, but I'm not sure that it's going to be that easy. Maybe one of the experts knows what to do.

Thanks in advance

The url you should use is:http://mail.domainname.com - there's no need for anything else to be entered.

-I believe he's talking about after authentication/login.

If you are running the Open Source Edition the ZPL license doesn't allow you to remove the logo or Zimbra branding.

If you are on the Network Edition there is a command to change this url.

Thanks for the replies.

I am running a licensed copy of the Network edition -- I'll start looking for the command line tool to change it. Do you know what the command is by chance?

PM'd

It's technically possible to change this in the OS edition, but as I understand against the ZPL, so to cut down on everyone doing it...unless bill/john/kevin say otherwise-I'm only providing it upon request.

References-

(yes one also points out another method: mod_rewrite...but again your not supposed too...)

It's kinda like the logo re-branding, it's always technically possible; but many modify & forget the 'Zimbra powered' logo, or copyrights, etc. Thus our standard answer has to be: This is a Network Edition feature.

If this changes I'll update you all-or search, it's actually not impossible to find
A) everyone's kinda busy today so I don't have too many people available to ask -which is usually a good thing because it means they got something up their sleeves
B) based on kevin's 3 posts-it seems to be something they want to protect-after all it get's zimbra's name out there
