Default Confused about CalDAV support in Zimbra

I'm confused about the Zimbra support for CalDAV. Browsing the forums, I've seen responces that claim that Zimbra does not yet support CalDAV, not even in version 5.

Yet there are at least two mentions on the Zimbra product page that appear to contradict this:

http://www.zimbra.com/products/deskt...atibility.html

and

http://www.zimbra.com/products/zimbra_calendar.html

both state that Zimbra supports open standards and mentions CalDAV specifically. So which is it? Is CalDAV supported or not?

(Don't get me wrong. I really hope it is. It would make life so much easier for a Mac user to have *real* calendar capabilities instead of sync only.)

Zimbra started implementing CalDAV support in version 4.5 and we continue to release updates as we learn more about the spec and the Apple implementation of their Apple iCal client that will ship with Leopard. Our goal is to certify our CalDAV implementation against Leopard after it is released and we have the final version. I realize it is hard to sort out because we support basic CalDAV today but the goal is support for specific clients and the Apple iCal client will be the first client that will have widespread adoption. Let us know if you want to test and you can try it against our 5.0 Beta and Apple's Leopard Beta and help us identify issues.

Leopard and iCal are what I would like to test against. I would be really interested in testing developer builds against Zimbra 5 Beta. Do I just download the beta 3 release or is there some special build of Zimbra that I should be testing against?

Thank you for the prompt reply

You can use 5.0 beta to test CalDAV. When configuring iCal, set the server URL to be http://<yourhostname>/service/dav/<yourusername>, and leave automatically discover server address and kerberos unchecked.

Should we expect this to work in 5.0Beta3? I just tried Leopard's iCal against it and got back an "Account info not found". The only thing logged on the server is a Dav PROPFIND access.

What OS are you running Zimbra on, and which Leopard build are you testing with? What is the exact URL you used in iCal? What's the HTTP return code in the access log? If you would like, you can file a bug at Bugzilla Main Page with all these details.
