Default Collaboration as treeview

I have been looking for collaboration server/client solution. Which will allow to comment my articles/pages and provide “XXX comments” with AJAX ability to preview and add user comment. The only problem, none is supporting complex suite, which will include treeview discussion UI, RSS feeds and newsgroup.
It was surprise that on collaboration view, there is NO threads as tree. Say, Thunderbird IMAP client allow to watch mail in “discussion mode”. So instead of plain message list I am able to see only root/starter messages. That is a way to go!

Meanwhile, I am still looking for solution. The Syrus IMAP server has an option to publish shared folder as netnews (NNTP) discussion groups. That gives server side. But I have not found threaded UI for IMAP and administration UI. Probably, it will be easier to create own Web2.0 widgets?

Proposals:
- make collabotarion as treeview,
configurable from admin:
- publish IMAP shared folders on NNTP
- save each message in separate file.
It will allow:
- AJAX to use HTTP for direct message access, list messages in folder, etc.
- easy archieving/migration
- version control (SVN)
- name other reasons...

The best,
suns

Welcome to the forums,
I assume you meant 'converastion' view and not 'collaboration' view:
If your talking about little plus symbols in mail view to expand threads-this is comming in v5-check out the beta!
It's already been in the Zdesktop(alpha release) client for some time. (Previously named hybrid view in 0.38, now it's just incorporated into conversation view.)

Someone want to show her a pic of their v5beta2 or their Zdesktop?

Shared mail folders is also in the v5 beta! Just like you would right click to share a calendar/addressbook/documents-works pretty nice.

For intergration with NNTP:
Bug 17715 - Allow reading of/posting to newsgroups (NNTP/Usenet)

"easy archieving/migration" For compliance purposes: Archiving & Discovery
There are multiple migration tools for outlook PST's/Groupwise/Exchange. Comming from Syrus? -imapsync will be your friend
In the network edition there's Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) which allows you to configure storage volumes for older messages. To manage your email storage resources, you can implement a different HSM policy for each message server. Messages and attachments are moved from a primary volume to the current secondary volume based on the age of the message. Thereby moving older messages and data to less expensive disk storage.
Compare features in the OS vs NE editions

There are also a few things in the works for enhanced file management

Will this do? Nope, it's too small - I'll get another one.

How's this?

Default does it have nested brances?

Not sure. There is only one level of incapsulation I see. Usually threads have deeper level. Could you make several replies on replies?

sample of 3-level:

+subj

Bill,

I haven't had a chance to check out 5.0 beta yet. Is that pic you sent the Advanced client? It looks like you've added the checkboxes back in. Is that correct?

Just curious, I have some users that will like that.

Thanks!

They are currently grouped by subject line
The ability to join messages with different subject lines is in the works, probably something better addressed at that time.
Could you search/open a request in bugzilla for your desired function? (It's how requests for enhancements and bugs are tracked)
EDIT: some aspects incorporated in Bug 451 - Ability to manually merge/split multiple conversations (as it depends on it)

BTW the some of the threading aspect is already incorporated into this bug (of course add any comments on multi level abilities and be sure to vote)
Bug 451 - Ability to manually merge/split multiple conversations
If you do make a new request be sure to mark it as dependent on 451
