[SOLVED] After reset of sync data, no longer able to sync

Had to reset the sync data for an Entourage user (long story). Told it to delete the data on the server and use what is local.

Zimbra goes about gathering information, prompts to delete all address book data, and then calendar data from the server. Click ok both times. 5 minutes latter prompted again, then again, then again.

Pulled this out of the local sync.log on the mac:

Forgot to add that his Calendar and Address Book in Zimbra are now sitting empty. Data is only in Entourage at the moment, which is syncing with iSync properly.

What this looks like to me is that it is getting the list of mail IDs in xml for a folder called "Deleted Items" and the connector is choking on it because it is so long.

A couple questions?

What is the limit on the number of messages in a mail folder that the iSync connector can handle?

Why is the iSync connector getting this info anyway since it does not sync mail, only calendar and contacts?

The mail folder in question had 8800 emails in it. I created another folder and moved half of the emails in it to the new one. Then the connector bombed at the new folder.

I apologize for the delay in responding to your problem. I checked the log output that you posted, and it appears that the sync is being cancelled for some reason.

Does this happen everytime you go to sync? With the same log message?

Every time.

I removed the folder it was choking on to a local file, out of the mailbox, then it decided to choke on the Junk folder, then the inbox, etc. As soon as it gets to a folder with xx number of items in it the server thinks it should know about, crash.

It looks like an overflow error, trying to stuff too much into a variable. But just having the line number of the code isn't much use if you don't have the code to look at.

Well that's certainly odd. Can you try this...it will involve doing a pretty thorough reset of the mac's sync engine. Fire up iSync.app, go to Preferences and click "Reset Sync History". Then go back to the Zimbra Preference Pane and click Sync. Let me know if any of that doesn't make sense.
