Default Mac & sync contacts-iCal

Actually with iPhone i set my zimbra account as exchange and everything works...

On the Mac, instead, setting Exchange doesn't work...

I just read that Lion (OsX 10.7) will support Exchange 2010: does this mean we will have full exchange support on Macs too?

I don't need it for exchange, but just for sync my devices with calendars and contacts.

Thanks for any answers that can drive me in the correct direction!

On OS X 10.7 setting up an Exchange account for Zimbra under "Mail, Contacts & Calendars" sadly does not work. (like on iOS).

However, setting up Zimbra as CalDAV and/or as CardDAV does work.

Bug 38631 - Enable snow leopard messaging features, Outlook for Mac 2011 is for support of Exchange Web Services, which is what you'd need for Mac Exchange-style accounts. Strictly speaking, though, that's only needed if you use Outlook 2011. EDIT: Also, while Zimbra has been fairly tight-lipped about plans to include this enhancement, I'll speculate that if this feature ever appears, it'll only be included in Network Edition, or possibly Professional Edition.

For Lion & Zimbra, you have two options:

Option 1 (Zimbra Pro edition only): Use the Zimbra iSync connector (mainly to sync contacts, but it also does some other configuration). Then finish setting up Mail using IMAP and iCal using CalDAV. I haven't tested this, but I don't see any reason it shouldn't work.

Option 2: Set up Mail as IMAP, iCal using CalDAV, and Address Book using CardDAV. This works well with one exception: Bug 46359 - Contact groups do not sync via CardDAV. Note that although bug 46359 is fixed, the fix won't be included in Zimbra until ZCS 8.

Thanks for this - I was looking into why my OS X Lion install wasn't working with Mail etc. Looks like I'll be sticking with ZD for the foreseeable future. Has anyone confirmed Lion's CalDAV/CardDAV work with Zimbra NE?

I just did confirm that Lion's CalDAV/CardDAV works with NE, except for bug 46359.

CORRECTION: I'm seeing at least one other bug: http://www.zimbra.com/forums/isync-c...ck-zimbra.html
