Default Mail.App - Can I sync My Yahoo account with the client (No Zimbra server)?

    Hi,

I am a yahoo Mail Plus user (Paid version). I can grab my yahoo inbox etc via POP on my Apple mail.app. Yaho Mail Plus does not have IMAP access.

I'd like to have my Sent items available offline. (I use the browser client as my primary client, however I need to be able to review mail I have sent when I am offline).

I know the Zimbra client will do this, however is there a way to get my thousands of sent items on yahoo auotmagically into my Apple Mail.App?

I do not have a Zimbra Server I am only using Yahoo Zimbra Desktop.

BTW, I have tried IzyMail but seems really buggy.

    Any ideas?

    regards

    Adam

POP3 has no concept of folders other than INBOX so /sent, /trash, /junk aren't visible and you can't sync them for offline use. Zimbra Desktop uses an XML interface to scrape the content from Yahoo Webmail and it's cached for offline use, but Mail.app can't do this. IMAP4 is what you need, but if it's not available the only solution is to change mail provider to one that does or wait until Yahoo succumbs to peer/user pressure and improves their service. There's a petition on facebook requesting IMAP support, but no signs of activity from Yahoo.

then again, you might get some mileage using "imap.next.mail.yahoo.com"
