I have to congratulate you guys on what you've done so far. I haven't seen such a promising OSS project in quite a while. The features are great and the stability is also flawless so far. I hope that an upgrade to 3.0 will solve my little headaches.

So, can I just upgrade from M2 to 3.0 and will the install script convert my data files correctly? If not, what do I have to do?
Is there a way to export a backup of all relevant data before I do the upgrade?

I will take a look into writing components for the web-if so I can integrate other services. Is that what a Zimlet does? Exciting stuff :-)

To back up just shut down Zimbra zmcontrol stop, then backup the /opt/zimbra directory. The install should take care of the upgrade for you.

Zimlet's are entensions of Zimbra. They allow you to integrate other data or provide additional functionality. You can read more about them here:
